Instructions for ALCCONV.EXE The data structure of Winroc .ALC sim files has changed with the release of version 4.0 - the file is now bigger and contains more data fields. I have included some unused fields for future expansion, so we should never have to do this again. Version 4.0 .ALC files are not compatible with older Winroc programs, and vis-versa. The major reason for doing this is to support longer .MOT filenames. This program is intended for converting any .ALC files which you have created yourself. Sample files included with version 4.0 are already in the new format. Follow this procedure to convert your old files: 1. ALCCONV.EXE is installed to the same directory as Winroc 4.0 - double click the icon to start the program. 2. Set the source directory to point at the location of your old copy of Winroc. Your old sim files will appear in the file list box. 3. Check to be sure the destination is right; it should be the directory you started ALCCONV.EXE from. 4. If everything is right, click CONV. Your files will be converted and copied to their new home in the Winroc 4.0 directory.
